Painter artist and carpet maker Malik Huseynov

Biography
Malik Huseynov, a member of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, received professional art education at the Baku Cultural Education Technical School, then at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, and the “Decorative and Applied Arts” faculty of Azerbaijan State Academy of Arts. On his creative path, he attended the personal school of People's Artists of Azerbaijan Kamil Aliyev and Arif Huseynov. He began his professional career as an architect-designer, worked for many years in the Baku City Executive Power and the Ministry of Culture in the field of protection, restoration and development of cultural heritage. This experience had a great influence on his creative path towards deepen roots of national architectural elements and historical memory. Malik Huseynov's creativity is based on the synthesis of reality, impressionism and inner feelings. The author, who works in oil paint, watercolor and traditional carpet art techniques, transfers the national-esthetic values of Azerbaijan, especially the historical landscapes of Karabakh and Shusha, to canvas in a modern visual language. In art, he creates a unity of modern color freedom with national textures (carpet patterns). He is a participant of many local and international exhibitions. From 2005 to 2015, he led the artistic design of the traditional “Flower Festival” organized annually by the Baku City Executive Power, designed made from flowers portrait compositions of the National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, and worked as the chief painter artist in the visual concept of esthetic events of state importance. In 2023, he worked as the acting head of the Baku Regional Department of the State Service for the Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture.
